Shawn Kahre

Junior Varsity Assistant Coach

Shawn Kahre is in his first year as an assistant baseball coach at Glenbrook South High School. He previously coached at Glenbrook North High School during the 2024 and 2025 seasons, where the Spartans captured multiple Regional titles and a 2024 Sectional championship.

 

From 2022 to 2025, Kahre served as a Baseball Recruiting Coach for NCSA, helping student-athletes navigate the college recruiting process. His coaching background also includes positions at several collegiate and summer league programs, including Wabash Valley College, Florida Southern College, Ellsworth Community College, Vincennes University, the Vermont Mountaineers (NECBL), and the Wisconsin Woodchucks (Northwoods League). Since 2018, he has also worked as an Associate Scout for the Texas Rangers.

 

Over the course of his coaching career, Kahre has mentored three Major League players, 18 MLB Draft selections, and three professional free-agent signees. As a player, he was an outfielder at Vincennes University and a pitcher at Kentucky Wesleyan College before competing professionally for one season with the Whitesands Pupfish of the Pecos League.

 

A native of Vincennes, Indiana, Kahre was a three-sport athlete at Vincennes Lincoln High School, participating in baseball, basketball, and tennis. He graduated in 2011 before earning his Bachelor of Science in Fitness and Sports Management from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2015.

Shawn lives in Evanston with his fiancée, Emma, their dog, Buck, and their two cats, Khaleesi and Biggie.
